Crystal Cove State Beach, a Good Place for Sand Play and Birthdays
I love the beach and pancakes and so do my five and two year old girls. For my birthday, a breakfast on the beach made perfect sense! I chose Beachcomber Cafe because it is right on the sand in the huge Crystal Cove Beach and State Park. I’d been coming to this place for years before I had kids but never had a chance to eat in the restaurant.
Beignets and Sand Play for the Children
I was excited that we made our 8 am reservation to the Beachcomber Cafe. No tantrums from either of my toddlers, so the day was off to a great start. We ended up with an ocean view booth. Chef’s kiss.
It felt like we all inhaled the warm beignets. I was pleasantly impressed with them, my first time having them.
We ordered coffee and watched my girls color. Once we were done, we walked down the boardwalk, stopping as much as the kids wanted so they could make sand angels.
Making sand angels.
The rest of our time, we explored and checked out the historic section of Crystal Cove. I even learned the sad history of the Japanese inhabitants lived here hundreds of years ago but were kicked off of the land by the government.
I enjoyed our slow and relaxed pace. We finished enjoying the views and decided to end the visit so nap times could commence. This was a great birthday morning.
